Each year, thePACKout hosts an Industry Power Hour as part of the conference, featuring representatives from various industry working groups. Yesterday, this fast-paced hour featured six different groups each giving a brief overview of their organization, what they are working to address, and how you can get involved. Here’s a quick recap of the engaging hour—reach out, get involved, and help to make an impact on the industry

AAMI Technical Committee 198, Working Group 7

  • Mission: AAMI is a diverse community of more than 10,000 professionals united by one important mission—supporting the healthcare community in the development, management, and use of safe and effective health technology. AAMI is the primary source of consensus standards, both national and international, for the medical device industry, as well as practical information, support, and guidance for health technology and sterilization professionals. 
  • How To Get Involved: Find your company’s AAMI membership coordinator and ask if there is a primary or alternate representative for your company for ST/WG7. Become your company’s primary / alternate representative.

ASTM F02 Primary Barrier Packaging Committee

  • Mission: Committed to serving global societal needs, ASTM International positively impacts public health and safety, consumer confidence, and overall quality of life. Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC)

  • HPRC is a private, technical consortium of industry peers across manufacturing, healthcare, and recycling industries seeking to improve the recyclability of plastic products and packaging within healthcare. Committed to continuous dialogue, HPRC explores ways to enhance the economics, efficiency, and ultimately the quality and quantity of healthcare plastics collected for recycling.

  • MDPTC is dedicated to creating networking and educational opportunities that empower packaging professionals to succeed.

Sterilization Packaging Manufacturers Council (SPMC)
