Meet the Powerhouse Team Behind the Future Success of Oliver’s Newest Manufacturing Facility in Johor, Malaysia!

In April, I was delighted to extend a warm welcome to three exceptional individuals who have now joined Oliver’s Johor leadership team. Their arrival marks another significant milestone as we progress towards the opening of Oliver’s newest manufacturing facility. Each of these new members brings with them a wealth of experience, expertise, and innovative thinking that will be instrumental in shaping the success of our venture. Let’s meet the team!

Huraini Shafi (Huraini) is our new Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager for the Johor Plant. With over 17 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the pharmaceutical industry, Huraini brings a wealth of expertise to her role.

Lee Khuan Meng (KM) joins us as the new Manufacturing Manager for the Johor Plant. With over 15 years of managerial experience in mass manufacturing, KM is well-equipped to lead our manufacturing operations.

Nusrah Rahmat (Nusrah) is our new Engineering Manager for the Johor Plant. With 14 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, Nusrah brings extensive expertise in engineering, project management, and production operations.

I recently sat down with our new team members to learn more about their past experience and hear what they are most looking forward to in their new roles.

Q

What are you most excited about in your new role?

Huraini: I am looking forward to experiencing and embracing new challenges within the medical packaging industry. I’m eager to explore and contribute as much as possible to ensure the success & certification of Oliver’s new manufacturing plant. Win as a team, that is who we are!

KM: I feel great pride to be part of the Oliver team. I am excited and looking forward to having the Johor plant ready for setup and production by the end of 2024!

Nusrah: I'm excited to see our team grow and look forward to seeing our new facility up and running. At Oliver, we always strive to maintain our mission and values while working to become one of the best medical packaging teams and facilities. I'm proud to be on this journey with my colleagues. Let's do this!

How do you think your past experiences will help you succeed?

Huraini: Having total exposure of a Quality Management System, including the regulatory requirements, during my time in the pharmaceutical industry has given me the confidence to contribute and apply my knowledge towards the success of the Johor plant operation.

KM: My past career was mainly in the semiconductor industry focusing on hard disk drives, thin film media, and optical sensors. With over 15 years of experience in high volume manufacturing environment, I believe my experiences and leadership skills will be valuable in my current job at Oliver. I also think they will help me contribute toward a high standard of manufacturing excellent for the Johor plant.

 

Nusrah: Having previously worked in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries (specifically in equipment, process validation, and new facility set up) I believe my skill sets, along with the support from the other team members, will help the project proceed smoothly and successfully.
